Corner House Youth Project is a registered charity, delivering a wide range of services to meet the needs of individual young people. This is provided within their own communities, across the Borough of Stockton on Tees - predominantly in the most marginalised neighbourhoods and wards.

- Enable young people and individuals to identify their own needs and aspirations
- Encourage young people and individuals currently on the fringes of society to re-engage and participate positively in their communities;
- Encourage and motivate young people into education, training and employment.
- Ensuring that opportunities are available for young people and families to take a lead in the continued development of the project
- Provide work in partnership with other organisations and agencies to provide and gain access to additional services in recognition that we cannot address all young people’s needs, nor it is ‘healthy’ for the young people to be divorced from mainstream services and activities;
WORKING WITH THE COMMUNITYAs a long established youth service provider, we have delivered many initiatives and programmes in communities of great complexities and as a result of this we have established trusting relationships with many young people and their families.
Corner House Youth Project has an excellent track record of delivering high quality youth provision across Stockton over the last 20+ years and are often described as the 'go to' organisation for the provision of youth services, locallly. Newtown Community Resource Centre in Stockton provides our office base as well as space for some of our open access Youth Work sessions and Early Intervention work. |
THE OBJECTIVES OF OUR ORGANISATION
To provide access to information, space and services for young people and families who are on the margins of society due to personal or economic status in order to gain greater control.
- To act as a resource for young people up to the age of 25, living in Stockton on Tees by providing advice and assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and other activities as a means of: advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals; and
- To provide recreational and leisure time activities in the interests of social welfare for people living in Stockton on Tees who have need by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances with a view to improving the conditions of life of such persons.
